Free Resources Available to Help Challenge Ageism and Celebrate Inclusion

15th May 2026

At Dorset VCSA, we are committed to building strong, inclusive communities where everyone – regardless of age – feels valued, respected, and able to participate fully in society. We know that ageism remains one of the most common, yet often overlooked, forms of discrimination, affecting people in the workplace, in public services, and in everyday life.
That is why we are highlighting the fantastic range of free resources available from the Age Without Limits campaign, led by the Centre for Ageing Better. These materials are designed to help individuals, charities, community groups, and businesses challenge stereotypes, spark conversations, and promote a more positive view of ageing.

What is the Age Without Limits campaign?

Age Without Limits is a movement calling for fundamental change in how we think, talk, and act about age. It challenges the outdated and harmful assumptions that older people are “past it”, “stuck in their ways”, or no longer able to contribute – while also highlighting how ageism affects people of all ages, limiting opportunities and dividing communities.
The campaign provides practical tools and guidance to help everyone take action, whether that is in the workplace, through media and communications, or within local community groups.

New downloadable resources now available

A comprehensive set of materials has just been published, ready for you to download, adapt, and use completely free of charge. These assets have been created to support your work, raise awareness, and make it easier than ever to join the movement for change.
The resource pack includes:

Campaign Materials

  • Posters and postcards: Eye-catching designs perfect for displaying in community centres, offices, libraries, or health settings, helping to spread key messages about age positivity. Versions are available in both English and Welsh.
  • Event resources: If you are planning activities for Age Without Limits Day 2026, there is a dedicated activity pack including conversation starters, quizzes, display materials, and guidance to help you host engaging, meaningful events.
  • Educational tools: Items such as the AWL Chatterbox and discussion guides make it easy to run workshops, training sessions, or group discussions to explore ageism and inclusion in a fun, interactive way.

Ready-to-use Social Media Content

One of the highlights of the new collection is a series of professionally designed social media graphics. These directly address common ageist phrases and myths, such as:
  • “Why do we say older people are ‘stuck in their ways’?”
  • “Why do bosses want ‘young blood’?”
  • “Why are older workers called ‘dinosaurs’?”
  • “Why do we tell older people they should ‘slow down’?”
Available in multiple formats (ideal for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X/Twitter), these graphics are ready to download and share instantly to help you start important conversations online and challenge harmful language wherever you see it.

Materials for the Workplace

For organisations looking to improve their diversity and inclusion practices, the resources also include content specifically focused on age in employment. These materials help highlight the value of multi-generational teams, challenge assumptions about capability or retirement, and support businesses to become truly age-inclusive employers.

How you can get involved

Whether you are a voluntary group, a charity, a local council, a business, or an individual volunteer, these resources are here for you. You can use them to:
  • Raise awareness during events or campaigns.
  • Support staff training and development.
  • Create engaging content for your website or social media channels.
  • Spark conversations in your community about what it really means to age without limits.
We encourage all our members and partners across Dorset to download the pack, share it within your networks, and help us create a county where everyone – from the youngest to the oldest – is seen, heard, and valued.
