The film – called Trust: Overcoming Mistrust in Health Research – has been screened at 12 events over the past year, reaching more than 350 people. A phased approach to the film’s release was adopted, prioritising face-to-face dialogue in the first phase. It has been screened at community hubs and healthcare settings across the country, serving as a powerful catalyst for discussions around why some communities feel disconnected from health research. More screenings have been planned and will take place over the coming months.
The film features contributions from health experts including Dr Chris van Tulleken, who has presented several television and radio programmes. He shares his perspective on the importance of trust in health research. Members of the community and research participants also share their thoughts and experiences.
