NHS Dorset, in partnership with Health Innovation Wessex and Bournemouth University, is pleased to invite stakeholders to an online webinar introducing a new opportunity to co‑produce Personalised Pathways to Healthy Weight for underserved populations across Dorset.
This programme builds on NHS Dorset’s commitment to reducing childhood obesity by 2040 and improving access, experience and outcomes for people living with unhealthy weight and obesity. Recent work has included expanding access to both medicated and non‑medicated pathways for adults, in line with NICE Technology Appraisal NG246.
The aim of this next phase is to transform weight management services by developing and testing an inclusive, community‑based model that addresses persistent inequalities and the underlying causes of obesity. The programme will focus on underserved groups, including:
- people with experience of the care system
- people with learning disabilities
- mental health service users
- people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences
- autistic people
- people who are socially isolated
- people living in under‑resourced communities
- people facing communication or digital barriers
This webinar is the first in a series of events designed to shape the programme, which is being held online on Thursday 14 May (12:00-13:00). A further in‑person event will take place on 3 June, 9:00am–1:00pm at Bournemouth University. Attendees are encouraged to hold the date.
