Join Dorset’s Quality Assurance Reference Group

16th February 2026

Did you know that Dorset Council’s Adults directorate has a long‑standing resident reference group dedicated to shaping and strengthening the quality of our services? Our Quality Assurance Reference Group brings together Dorset residents who share feedback, insights and constructive challenge on everything from CQC inspection readiness to our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion action plan.

This is a space for open, honest, round‑table discussion. Over the past two years, members have met regularly to share their lived experience of services and help define what “quality” truly means from a resident perspective. They are trusted, reliable voices who advocate for themselves and others across our communities.

Why volunteer?

Members tell us they value:

• Being part of positive change in Adult Services
• Growing in confidence in a supportive, accessible environment
• Meeting new people and working together to create solutions
• Knowing their voice is heard and acted upon

We welcome volunteers with a wide range of communication and accessibility needs, and we work with each person to ensure they can participate fully.
How it works

• Meetings: Every other month
• Location: County Hall, Dorchester
• Expenses: Travel reimbursed
• Recognition: Vouchers provided to thank members for their time and contribution

This is an exciting moment to join the group, as members will play a key role in shaping our response to the forthcoming CQC report and our wider improvement work.

If you know someone who may be interested, please refer them to me for an informal chat. And please do share the poster with your networks — your support helps us reach the voices we most need to hear.
