Would you be able to help collect some information to support the pan-Dorset NAP Steering Group with a priority project?
The pan-Dorset NAP Steering Group in composed of representation from Health, Education, Local Government, Research, and the Voluntary Sector. One of the purposes of the group is to plan, develop and deliver activities, products and services which support good nutrition in older people.
A priority project for the NAP Steering Group during 2025/26 is to develop and deliver a pan-Dorset nutrition campaign built on the ‘top tips’ of older residents (65+ years) for eating and drinking well. The premise for this project being that we can share best practice advice from research but how does it really feel, and what really does help from a lived experience viewpoint.
We are looking for colleagues from across the Dorset system that may be able to help collect the ‘top tips’ information from older residents, which will be used to inform and build the campaign materials.
This involves asking one question to older residents:
“If you could share any top tips for healthy eating or drinking with your family or friends, what would they be?”
The method used to gather the information can be flexible to best fit with your work process, projects and systems. Examples may include:
- Addition of the question to existing surveys for older residents
- Sharing information on the project and the MS Forms link in newsletters (or similar) to service users
- Asking as part of standard contact / interaction with older residents
- Asking as part of an existing community engagement activity with older residents This information is being collected from 01 October 2025 to 31 December 2025 via MS Forms.
We would be very grateful for any help colleagues are able to provide in collecting this information. If you would like some additional information on this project, or the work of the NAP Steering Group, please email: [email protected]. Thank you.
