Access Wellbeing offers earlier access to different types of support depending on your need, whether that is your mental health, financial matters, work, or concerns about housing or benefits.
Early access to support can prevent concerns from escalating, and empower you to support your future health and wellbeing.
Access Wellbeing includes three hubs Boscombe, Poole and in Weymouth, as well as drop-in spaces located in existing community settings across Dorset. These are staffed by friendly wellbeing coordinators who can take the time to listen, then help people to find the right support and advice.
This digital offer is also developing a comprehensive service finder – a directory of organisations that can help and support people in many different ways – coming soon!
Access Wellbeing aims to provide:
- The right support – person-centred mental health and wellbeing support that can be accessed by anyone aged 18 and over
- At the right time – access to advice and help when it’s most needed, recognising what matters most to you at any point in time
- In the right way – a choice of ways to get help and support, including face to face and online
What is Access Wellbeing?
Access Wellbeing is the new approach to community mental health and wellbeing support in Dorset. It is a partnership between the NHS and voluntary sector, working together with other organisations across the community.
Access Wellbeing provides different types of support depending on each person’s needs, including easy access to early help with the issues that can impact on our mental health and wellbeing.
The new Access Wellbeing hubs and drop-in spaces are described as Universal services, as they can be accessed by anyone aged 18 and over. In addition to these new Universal services, the Access Wellbeing model of care also includes two other areas – Focused and Specialist. Work is currently underway to align and integrate care across all these areas, to provide one connected system of support that is easier for people to navigate.
