So, far we have received survey responses that are setting clear priorities for what you want from Dorset VCSA for 2025–26. Your feedback is helping shape where Dorset VCSA should focus its energy to create the biggest impact.
Here’s what people are saying:
Sustainable Funding: Many organisations are calling for better communication around grants and funding opportunities, simpler reporting, and more long-term, flexible funding arrangements. Support to strengthen financial planning and sustainability is also high on the list.
Stronger Collaboration: Respondents want deeper partnerships across VCS groups, councils, and health services. Ideas include joint projects, co-producing services, sharing training, and clearer two-way communication.
Inclusive Communities: There’s strong support for backing local solutions to social challenges—like tackling isolation, mental health issues, and housing concerns. People also want more youth engagement and leadership opportunities in the sector.
What’s Worrying People? Survey responses also raised concerns about:
- Ongoing funding cuts and the rising cost of delivering services
- Volunteer shortages and staff burnout
- Rising community needs that demand more coordinated, long-term support
